We recently presented a webinar, looking at the new non-linear FEA support now available in MSC Apex. Having the ability to build and analyse non-linear models in the Apex environment opens many new avenues for a contemporary FEA workflow.
During the webinar we covered a quick background to non-linear analysis and then looked at several different types of non-linearity, ranging from boundary conditions and contact to large displacement and post-buckling through to material non-linearity and finally a multi-step simulation, which brings these solution types together.
With the power of Apex for model build and result exploration, coupled with MSC Nastran implicit non-linear SOL400 support, we showed how a complex analysis could be invoked using the ‘smart set-up’ or advanced options for more difficult problems.
If you’re involved in non-linear FEA, or would like to learn more about this workflow, then you’ll want to take a look at the full webinar presentation.
Here’s a 2-minute summary of our approach for non-linear FEA with MSC Apex to support an MSC Nastran SOL400 workflow.
Here’s the full 1-hour 20-minute presentation, which describes the workflow and a series of worked examples in more detail.
