As well as quick overview of nonlinear FEA, I presented practical strategies for developing your analysis capability, based around two key themes:
Modeling strategies for nonlinear FEA,
- verifying linear response
- using an efficient model size
- increasing scope and understanding of structure
- taking advantage of automation
Solver strategies for nonlinear FEA,
- understand the solver settings
- understand the solver output
This includes a couple of demos using MSC Apex and MSC Nastran, but the strategies I show are applicable to any contemporary FEA software.
