As well as my FEA consultancy and teaching, I’ll be spending some of my time each month working with NAFEMS in assessing budding and experienced engineers for their Professional Simulation Engineer (PSE) certification.
PSE is a fantastic way for simulation engineers to demonstrate a sound foundation in both the theory and practical application of FEA and related CAE technologies.
There are three levels – entry, standard and advanced – along with many core and specialist competencies (such as structural mechanics, vibration and dynamics, non-linear effects, and optimisation to name a few).
If you’re starting out on your career journey in simulation, or are a senior-level consultant or specialist, PSE is a fantastic way to prove your capabilities to a potential employer or client.
I gained my PSE certification a number of years ago, and have found that it has been incredibly useful in many aspects of the work I do with Evotech.
